Medical Weight Loss in Coral Springs

At Optimize Medical, we understand that weight loss is more complex than eating less and moving more. Along with nutrition and activity level, our weight is determined by the complex interaction of our biology and our mental health. Genetics, metabolism, hormones, gut biome, stress levels, sleep, and emotional health all play a part in our weight loss journey. While medications can play an important role in weight management, we also recognize that there is no single, one-size-fits-all solution for every patient.

Insurance and Fees

We accept most major health insurance plans! Visits with your medical provider will often be covered by your plan. Initial testing may also be covered in some situations. If you don’t have insurance coverage for provider visits and lab visits, our clinic can help you understand the out-of-pocket costs before proceeding with the program. Depending on which medication is right for you, we may be able to dispense the medication in the office during your visit, have it mailed to your home, or send the prescription to your preferred pharmacy.

Absolutely, many individuals achieve successful weight loss through non-surgical methods like lifestyle changes and medication.
The time frame varies for each individual based on factors like starting weight, program adherence, pre-existing health issues, age, gender, and metabolic rate. However, most people begin to see results within the first few weeks.
Most medical weight loss programs will target 10% weight loss, though we are supportive of patients whose goals include larger amounts of weight loss. 5-10% weight loss has been associated with significant health improvements in things like blood pressure, blood sugar, risk fo heart problems, and cancer risk. However, every individual’s results will vary based on factors like starting weight, program adherence, pre-existing health issues, age, gender, and metabolic rate.

Semaglutide, marketed under the brand names Ozempic and Wegovy, was initially developed for type 2 diabetes but has since gained traction as a weight management medication due to its substantial efficacy in weight loss. Tirzepatide, on the other hand, is noted for its dual action in managing blood sugar levels and promoting weight loss.

Recent studies and meta-analyses in 2023 indicate that Tirzepatide shows superiority over Semaglutide in controlling blood glucose levels and achieving greater weight loss. For instance, Tirzepatide resulted in an average weight reduction that exceeded that of Semaglutide by 5.7 kg (12.6 pounds). These findings highlight Tirzepatide's potential as a promising option in the pharmaceutical management of type 2 diabetes and weight loss. However, it's important to note that while these medications are effective, they must be part of a comprehensive weight management program to achieve sustainable results. source

Phentermine is a stimulant medication that reduces appetite and has been used for decades in medical weight loss programs. It has been generally been found to be safe and effective for weight loss in many patients. It is still frequently used and can be an important medication option as part of a medical weight loss program.
